How to check an email id is valid or not

Frauds are common for these days, you may get client’s or company’s contact email id which are not real , if you are  a web administrator you may have noticed that, many user uses somes weird email id which are probably not real and don’t exists, so how will you verify that the provided email id does exists or not?

We have many option to check the email ids, such as by pinging the mail server , by using email id validator software, email lookup or by using the simple method of “Forget Password” and I like this last option which is very simple .First you have to find the email service provider , suppose the email id is abcjd@xyz.com  , so the attribute after @ which is xyz.com is the email service provider.

Gmail
Suppose the email id belongs to Gmail example: abcd@gmail.com, then pretend yourself as the user of gmail and you don’t remember the password anymore. So, open the login page of Gmail and click on ‘Need Help’ then from the list choose ‘I don’t know my password’  then, enter the email id in the space below and hit enter.
If the email id is real it will show the security option to reset the password, and if it is not real , you will get this message “No account found with that email”.

Yahoo.
example: abcd@yahoo.com The same steps with yahoo , goto yahoo login page,  click on ‘I can’t access my account’ and then in the next window select ‘I have problem with my password’  then next. In the  next page enter the yahoo id and then click on next. If it is not real it will show a message “We could not match the yahoo id…”

Hotmail, live and Outlook
example: abcd@live.com It is simple as above, open account.live.com , then click on ‘Can’t access your account’  next choose ‘I forgot my password’ enter the email id and wait for the result. You may follow the same steps to validate an email id at every other websites of email service.
